Laba Cinema is a startup building the missing distribution backbone for African cinema.

 

We focus on one clear problem: great African films struggle to reach the audiences they are made for. Distance, poor connectivity, limited cinemas, and weak distribution systems keep stories locked away. We exist to change that.

 

Our work combines online platforms with purpose-built offline cinema technology, allowing films to travel seamlessly from cities with strong internet to communities with none. Cinemas, video halls, art and community centers, and open-air spaces can all screen films legally, reliably, and at quality.

But access is only the beginning. Laba Cinema also supports filmmakers beyond the screen. We offer tools for marketing, co-production, community screenings, licensing, audience data, and long-term archiving. Every film is treated as both art and cultural record.

 

This is cinema built with care and intention. We are designing a system that values creators, supports venues, and brings audiences back to African stories. Laba Cinema is laying the groundwork for a stronger, fairer, and more lucrative African film economy.
